What Is Project Pinning?
Pinning puts a project in the Projects section of your chat sidebar, so you can open it in one click instead of searching the projects list.
Note: Projects isn't available in every workspace yet. If you don't see Projects in your sidebar, it hasn't been turned on for your workspace.
Two Ways to Pin

How to Pin a Project for Yourself
Click Projects in the sidebar
Find the project and click the three-dot menu (⋯) on its row
Click Pin
You'll see Pinned to your sidebar, and the project appears under Projects in your chat sidebar.
Tip: You can also pin from inside a project. Open the project, click the menu (⋯) next to its name, and click Pin.
How to Pin a Project for Your Whole Workspace
Workspace owners and admins can pin a project for everyone.
Click Projects in the sidebar
Click the three-dot menu (⋯) on the project's row, or the menu next to the project's name inside the project
Click Pin for workspace
You'll see Pinned for everyone in this workspace. The project now appears in every member's sidebar.
Where Pinned Projects Appear
Pinned projects are listed in the Projects section of the chat sidebar.
Workspace pins come first and show a small pin icon, so you can tell why a project you didn't pin yourself is there
Your own pins come after them
A project pinned both ways is only listed once
Click the arrow next to Projects to collapse or expand the section
Click + to start a new project
If you haven't pinned anything yet, the section says Pin projects to keep them here.
How to Unpin a Project
Open the same menu (⋯) on the project's row, or inside the project
Click Unpin to remove your own pin, or Unpin for workspace to remove the workspace pin
If you remove your own pin from a project that's also pinned for the workspace, it stays in your sidebar. You'll see Removed from your pins — still shown because it's pinned for the workspace.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why is there a project in my sidebar that I didn't pin?
An owner or admin pinned it for the whole workspace. Those projects show a small pin icon.
Can I remove a project that was pinned for the workspace?
Only workspace owners and admins can remove a workspace pin, with Unpin for workspace.
Is there a limit on how many projects I can pin?
No. Every project you pin is listed.
Do my pins carry over to other workspaces?
No. Pins belong to one workspace. If you use several workspaces, pin projects in each one separately.
Does pinning change the project?
No. Pinning only adds a shortcut to the sidebar. The project and its chats stay the same.
