Overview
This guide explains how to add and manage file documents in your AI Data Hub. The Data Hub feature allows you to store, organize, and utilize various document types to enhance your workspace capabilities and streamline your processes.
Learning Objectives:
Understand supported file types for Data Hub
Learn how to upload file documents properly
Know file size limitations and best practices
Prerequisites
You'll Need:
Access to your workspace with a paid plan (Starter, Best-of-Breed, Professional, or Enterprise)
Documents in supported file formats
Files under 50MB in size
Document Formats
Navigate to the Data Hub section in your workspace
Review the list of supported file types before uploading:
Text-based: CSV (.csv), Text (.txt), Markdown (.md), JSON (.json), HTML (.html)
Microsoft Office: Word (.docx, .doc), Excel (.xlsx, .xls), PowerPoint (.pptx, .ppt)
Other formats: PDF (.pdf), CSS (.css), JavaScript (.js)
Note: The system works best with left-to-right (LTR) language documents such as English. Right-to-left (RTL) languages and image-heavy PDF files may have limited support.
Single and Multiple File Upload
Access the Data Hub feature in your workspace
Look for the Data Hub section in the main navigation
Select the upload option
Click the upload button or drag-and-drop area
Choose single file upload or multiple file selection
Select files from your device
Browse to locate the file(s) you wish to upload
Select one or multiple files depending on your needs
For multiple files, choose grouping options
Decide whether to group files together in the Data Hub
Follow on-screen prompts to complete the grouping process
Wait for confirmation
Allow the upload process to complete
Look for success notification or confirmation message
Result: Your file(s) will appear in your Data Hub and be available for use with AI features in your workspace.
Important: Do not close the tab or navigate away from the page until the loading toast message disappears, as this could interrupt the upload process.
Best Practices
Optimize file content: Ensure text is selectable in PDFs rather than images of text for better AI processing.
Manage file sizes: Keep files under the 50MB limit for optimal performance.
Use appropriate formats: Choose file formats that best represent your data (e.g., CSV for tabular data).
Consider file splitting: For documents approaching size limits, consider splitting into smaller logical sections.
Common Questions
Q: What happens if I try to upload an unsupported file type?
A: The system will reject the upload and display an error message indicating which file types are supported.
Q: Can I upload multiple files of different types at once?
A: Yes, you can select multiple files of different supported formats in a single upload session.
Q: How do I know if my file was uploaded successfully?
A: A confirmation message will appear once the upload is complete, and the file will be visible in your Data Hub.
Q: Is there a limit to how many files I can upload?
A: While there's no strict limit on the number of files, your plan may have storage limitations. Check your subscription details for specifics.
Q: Can I organize my files into folders within the Data Hub?
A: The grouping function allows you to organize related files together, functioning similarly to folders.
Q: What should I do if my file exceeds the 50MB limit?
A: Consider compressing the file, splitting it into smaller parts, or removing unnecessary content to reduce its size.
