Overview
Enable AI Memory to allow TeamAI to remember important details about your role, preferences, projects, and communication style across all conversations. This feature creates a personalized experience that improves over time, enabling the AI to provide contextual responses tailored to your specific needs without repeating background information in every chat.
Learning Objectives:
Enable and disable the AI Memory toggle
Share relevant information with TeamAI for personalization
Understand what types of information get remembered
Make informed decisions about what to share vs. keep private
Test AI Memory to verify stored information
Manage privacy considerations for stored memory
Prerequisites
You'll Need:
Access to a workspace with AI Memory feature enabled
An active account with permission to modify personal preferences
At least one chat conversation to test the memory function
Understanding that AI Memory is personal to your account (not shared)
Note: AI Memory is available on all paid TeamAI plans. If you don't see the option, contact your workspace administrator.
Enabling AI Memory
Access AI Memory Settings
Navigate to the left panel and locate your workspace navigation
Click the "Settings" icon (⚙️) at the bottom of the left panel
Select "Preferences" from the settings menu under the Account section
Result: Your personal account preferences page opens.
Warning: These are personal account settings, not workspace settings. Changes affect only your account, not other team members.
Enable the Feature
Scroll to the "AI Memory & Learning" section in your preferences
Locate the toggle labeled "Enable AI Memory"
Click the toggle to switch it to the ON position
Click "Save changes" at the bottom of the preferences page
Result: AI Memory is now active. TeamAI will begin learning from your conversations.
Tip: A confirmation message appears: "AI Memory enabled. TeamAI will become more helpful as you chat."
Note: Enabling AI Memory does not immediately populate memories. The AI learns gradually as you share information across conversations.
Click on the settings icon in your workspace, then select Preferences under the Account section. This will take you to your personal AI configuration options.
Teaching TeamAI About Yourself
Share Relevant Information
Navigate to the left panel and create a new chat or use an existing one
Type information about yourself in the message input field, such as:
"I'm a marketing manager at a SaaS company"
"I prefer concise, bullet-point responses"
"I'm working on a product launch campaign for Q2"
"I specialize in B2B marketing for tech companies"
Press Enter to submit the information
Result: In future conversations, the AI will reference these details without you repeating them.
Important: Be explicit and specific. "Marketing manager for enterprise SaaS products" is better than "I work in marketing."

Test Your AI Memory
Verify What TeamAI Knows
Create a new chat to avoid conversation-specific context
Ask TeamAI what it knows about you:
"What do you know about my work?"
"What are my communication preferences?"
"What projects am I currently working on?"
"What have you learned about me?"
Result: TeamAI provides a summary of stored memories. Review to ensure accuracy.
Tip: Test AI Memory in a fresh chat where you haven't shared additional context. This shows what's been stored from previous conversations.
Result: If information is missing or incorrect, you can explicitly restate it to update your memory.
Warning: AI Memory is not instantaneous. It may take a few minutes for new information to be fully processed and available for recall.
Disabling AI Memory
Turn Off the Feature
Navigate to the left panel and click the "Settings" icon (⚙️)
Select "Preferences" from the settings menu
Scroll to the "AI Memory & Learning" section
Click the "Enable AI Memory" toggle to switch it OFF
Click "Save changes" at the bottom of the page
Result: AI Memory is disabled. The AI will stop learning new information.
Important Note: Previously stored memories remain in the system but will not be added to context in new chats. The AI effectively "forgets" what it learned but doesn't delete the data.
Note: Old memories may still influence responses briefly until the system fully processes the change (typically within 24 hours).
Re-Enabling After Disabling
To re-enable: Follow the same steps and toggle AI Memory back ON.
Result: The AI resumes learning and adds stored memories back into chat context.
Important: Memories stored before disabling are retained and become available again when you re-enable.
Best Practices
Be explicit about what to remember: Use clear, specific statements like "Remember that I'm a backend engineer who specializes in Python and PostgreSQL" rather than vague comments.
Update when circumstances change: When you change roles, projects, or preferences, explicitly tell the AI: "I've changed roles. I'm now a product manager instead of a developer."
Review stored information periodically: Every few months, ask "What do you know about me?" to verify accuracy and update outdated information.
Share information gradually: Don't dump everything at once. Share relevant details naturally throughout your conversations for better context retention.
Focus on relevant professional details: Share information that helps the AI assist you better with your work, not personal information unrelated to your tasks.
